GT 1 at Cars and Coffee
I hope someone got some shots of this car to post up.
UNBELIEVEABLE CAR!!
We were getting ready to leave and I saw it appoaching the entrance.
When it pulled in the entire crowd started running after it taking snaps and yelling at the driver to park it as it looked like he was maybe thinking of just doing a quick in and out.

Awesome car and seeing one on the street amazes me. I have no clue what it's worth but it has to be about 2-3 Veyrons. If it is a real one. I remember about 4-5 years ago seeing a company that sold GT1 body kits for the 996. These kits where not cheap, they cost almost as much as the car itself. But were identical to the factory down to the body shell. Basically 100% replacement of all body parts.

maybe it was a clone
It was pefect. It was a 993 version with the round headlights

could have been a 993 GT1 clone, either way if done right, the body kits cost quite a bit or did.

I checked and there is a company that builds a clone on a Boxster chassis. Looks identical to the car I saw today.
Oh well, for a few hours I was basking in the joy that I had seen a REAL gt 1

Hey at least it's based off a porsche chassis not a kit car. The GT1 kit I'm talking about was so good, that you could not tell a difference between it and the real thing, but the kit was $150k.

I remember one of the 25 street GT1's going for over 2 mil a few years ago, but maybe prices have come down. I am not talking about the race car or a few of the repros. But I have not seen any prices lately so like anything else if could have come down.

I saw it also today coming in as I was leaving. I think it was a clone, did not sound like a real one. A whole bunch of guys didn't think it was real, we may be all wrong though, who knows. Nice car though.

you can pretty much tell a fake when you see it or be nearly sure. If you think it was a clone then it most likely was. It's like those fake 959's, fairly easy to spot.
