Sub box is behind the rear seats but I didn't realize you had an '01.

In front of it. It goes the full width of the car and is maybe 7-9" deep and 6-7" high, as best I remember. Mine's been in storage for over a year. Weighs 12#.

Ok my May 2001 TT doesn't have an amp despite being ridiculously expensive at the time, sticker in CHF was 230K, circa $200K (I didn't buy this one new) I am still kicking myself for spending 3K on my new F430 Sat Nav, when I have just bought a replacement Garmin for the TT at $250, all this needless crap.....

Popped the clips today and took a look. Appears the Bose system will be considerably more difficult to remove. I pushed pretty hard on the speaker cover and it didn't want to move inward. Looks like the speakers and their plastic mount are anchored by 6 phillips head screws 2 of which would be very diffcult to reach without removing the whole door panel and I don't know how to do that.

For the door panel you need to look in the TT repair manual, it takes about half an hour each side. I would send you the TT repair manual but its 44MB, some other members have a free weblink from where you can download
