Houston Crew: Lets go to the Track!

Ed,
You certainly may.
The next outing will be bigger and better. I'm going to work on having timing devices in place that way we can run three groups of 10. Each group will have two general run sessions to get a qualifying lap. Then the top three from each group will be in a final race. Maybe we could do top 4 or something who knows. These are just my thoughts after the initial event. I think getting the extra session for the same price won't be a problem as long as we bring a few more people. I think we ended up with about 16 this last time. I'd like to do 20 at the very minimum next time. That way we can do two groups of ten. I believe there are 12 Karts so having 24 would ultimately be ideal.

what about a halfday karting/bbq event? I'm not sure if that's doable but I'd be interested in chipping in some for some food and drinks

Certainly dooable Ed. Might be a good way to get the families involved too as they do have kid karts as well. I think maybe we could shoot to do that one for the April event and focus on having another event at the end of Feb and another in March as well.

So is everyone good w/ chipping in for food/catering? I Love the idea of making it a family event although I know that some like their car stuff as an excuse to ditch the wife.

There is a place on Richmond called Pro Am Auto (www.proamauto.com) that stocks a few brands including Simpson, worth trying a few on there. Simpson make great helmets (based in New Braunfells).

I think I found mine already... I'll have to pass Paulie.
It'sl isted as "Chinese Nwe Matt Black Fighter Jet Pilot Helmet"...how fitting for me. I just hope this is an approved helmet for karting

Adam, thanks man... so go for SA and not K? I know where ProAm is... they are right across the street from my friend's store. ![Smilie](https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Don't go buying an M rated helmet (motorcycles only), get a SA rated for cars/karts (there is a K rated also - Karts only).

Cole Trickle ..... I mean Paulie does have a helmet for sale. Just watch Days of Thunder and you'll get the idea. Call Leslie at MSR 281.369.0677 She'll take care of you.
