CEL - what do these error codes mean please?

My '01 996TT with 56K miles had its CEL come on two days ago.
I had the codes read and they came back as 1330 and 1344.

Can anybody tell me what these mean? Is it the MAF?

What did you scan with? I do not have a 1330 code...I did find a P1344 code...
P1344: 579 Valve Lift Control, Bank 1, Output Stage - Open
Circuit
Possible fault cause
♦ Open circuit in triggering wire
♦ Open circuit in B+ supply
♦ Solenoid hydraulic valve faulty

Thanks for the feedback. It was my Indy mechanic who read it, I don't know what with.

He said the codes had something to do with the car trying to adjust the Air/Fuel mix and running out of room to adjust, indicating the MAF was shot.

At the same time, when I picked the car up, the CEL was gone, so now I'm not sure what to make of it.

get the codes re-read with someone that has Durametric, PST2 or PIWIS...perhaps the indy did not read the codes right. The code you gave does not indicate MAF.

Also, you might want to reset the codes and see what pops back up. Sometimes old codes can remain in memory, and a new fault occurs tripping the light- the reader can't tell you when these occured (but a pst2/piwis can)

Well, I got the CEL back, along with ABS and PSM.

Also: my tip is showing some strange and disturbing behavior.
At WOT, I seem 'stuck' in third gear at high RPM, instead of shifting up.

This morning, when putting my foot down, the car bucked abd bogged, followed by two noticable clunks/judders (like loud backfires, but with a mechanical sound to it) before boost kicked in and acceleration occurred.

I have already ordered a new MAF so I'll put that in when it arrives.
Can the above all be ascribed to a dead MAF ?
