Cleaning Exhaust Tips
My car had some nasty baked on black stuff on the exhaust tips. I tried wax, scratch remover, and aluminum/chrome polish (which worked a little). But nothing would remove it very well...
I am one of the guys who notices the little things and I think clean exhaust tips and insides of wheels really make a car look new. So I kept thinking about how to clean the tips...
I thought about steel wool or similar, but did not want to scratch them up too bad. Then I thought about some cleaner and plastic scrubbers I have for our ceramic stove cooktop. It is made to not scratch, but to also get the baked on black stuff off. I thought it may be worth a try.
That method worked extremely well! Took off almost all the black crusty stuff off and left the tips shiny and not scratched looking. I need to get it out into the sunlight and hit it again to really get all the stuff off that is hiding in the cracks.
Anyway, just thought I would pass that along. Anyone else have any good exhaust tip cleaning tips (pun intended!)?

Try "Bar Keepers Friend". It is a wonderful stainless steel cleaner that is non abraisive and has a little polish in it. It can be found at most grocery stores or target. Cost about $1.50. It will not scratch the surface and works amazing. Restaurants use it to take off baked on items without hurting the stainless steel or glass.
