Wheel spacer feedback

Thinking of puting 997 TT wheels on my 996 TT which would require 7-10mm up front and 20mm rear. Wondering what your opinions are on spacers. I assume it puts more stress on wheel bearings, especially at the rear. I know there are many nice aftermarket wheels out there that don't require spacers. My problem is that I like wheels that look stockish. So my options are limited. The only other wheels I can think of are Tekart Formula wheels. They're heavy and expensive for cast wheels and would also require spacers.

So, to spacer or not to spacer?

Thanks

Spacers are fine to run as long as you stick with a reputable brand and make sure they are forged. You have to be careful of some of the knockoffs that you see on ebay that can crack under load. Also make sure to purchase them with the longer lugs so you can safely install them as the stock lugs will be too short.

I think some of the old racing Turbos, 70s and 80s, used to run 1 to 2 inch in the
back. I think I would be more worried about the fronts.
