Anyone running FVD software with K24s??
I currently have the FVD tuning on my 996TT with stock K16s and a DMC intake.
I hope to get a pair of K24 turbos in the next couple weeks, then i'm going to call FVD and tell them of my upgrade and have them send me a new map for the bigger turbos.
Has anyone else on here run this setup, any dyno #s? I'm curious what I could possibly expect with this setup.
Also,
Would a 5 bar FPR be necessary? And what about stiffer wastegate springs - yes or no? If so, from where?
The car feels very strong right now, its generally holding 1.0 bar but spiking to 1.2 bar at times. I'd really just like to know what the K24s would do.

K24s or K24/18s? I have an S with stock K24 and Softroinc flash which I think is the
same FVD uses? Been seeing constant 1.1 bar with spike to 1.2 but at about 5000
to 7000 feet altitude, should be more at sea level. Advertised to be about 530 hp
crank with flash, BMC and exhaust (Speedtech 70mm). Stock FPR.

I see most K24s going used for $1500-2000, would the above job cost less, and who does this?
Which would yield greater gains, K24 compressor wheel or 16g?

So if I sent out my turbos and had a K24 compressor wheel put on them both they'd then be K24s or what - would they still not yield quite as much power as a real k24 turbo?

16gs k24s etc. are pretty close...
Or just upgrade to a K16/24... call Blauch turbo... lol

Now to get the best results (most power) should I get a 5 bar fpr and stiffer wastegate springs?
I want to get the absolute most out of the K24s, will FVD run the K24s at 1.2 bar? (on 93 oct)

Yes on a k16/16g turbo you will produce more power than just stock k24 turbos with a flash. But the only issue i see here is you have limited your path forward in terms of upgradability.
If you send your k16 turbos to Mike at Blouch or a tuner like EPL,Protomotive you can get these upgraded 16 g wheels and wastegates for about $1200 -$1500.

Oh really? So you're saying I should be able to produce more power out of a k16/16g turbo setup than just plain jane K24s?

Now since a k24 is bigger it might hold power better on the high end...its hard to compare dynos as conditions are different.
The most economical way to make the most power at this moment seems to be k16/16g setup. There is not much debate about it.

Really not sure about FVD. I know some of the tuners here offer them...EPL and Proto does.

I just called the guys over at Blouch Turbo and they said the K24s are a bigger turbo (obviously heh) and that a setup with K24s would produce more power than a k16/16G hybrid setup. He said the 16g setup is a nice in-between for the K16 --> K24. He also noted that if I got tired of the K24s I could always send them in for 18G compressor wheels for $500/ea.
Does this sound about right, that the k24s actually have the capability to produce more power than a hybrid k16/16g setup?
