HELP NEEDED...Car won't start

OK, so I just went to go start my car, and turn the key, what do I get?
RAT..tat..tat.tata.tat.tat.tat.tat.ata..
sounds like someone shooting a fake uzi gun!
all the warning lights flutter while it's making that noise and then I let go and it stops. Car won't start. All the interior lights and trunk work, so battery not dead. Although, when I went to close the door, the window didn't do it's usual "extra closing." What should I do?
Thanks is advance

Jay

Charge the battery directly. It should be able to turn over after 15 or so minutes of charging. Please let us know how you make out.

I had the same problem... definitely sounds like the battery. Mine reached the point where a charge would not hold, and I needed to replace the battery.

Sounds like you got a bad cell and will need a new battery. I had this happen to me before. The battery in my 99 C2 was replaced twice in 4 years, I now plan on proactively replacing my battery every two years. A battery maintainer and checking the fluid level in the battery helps too.

make sure the floor mat is not preventing the clutch pedal from going to the floor.

well it seems like I need a new battery. I tried driving around for almost an hour (which wasn't all that bad) after jump starting but as soon as I turned it off, it didn't hold charge at all. Man that is really crappy for a 1 year old car. Oh well
Thanks for all the feedback

talk to the dealer. Mine happened after 3 years and only 16k miles, so they replaced it for free. It's worth a shot.

The dealer will replace the battery under warranty IF you drive the car regularly OR use a maintainer.
