battery replacement

BTW - if you don't have access to electrical socket for the tender, i'd look into getting either a battery kill switch (the type that has a metal screw that contacts) or just pull off the negative. if you end up letting it sit for a week or 2, it's hard to say if it'll want to start.

Does anyone have any experience with those Braille batteries? 11-17 lbs is remarkable. If so, what model/bracket? And, for the Optima, what bracket do you use? My current battery is the original on an '05 997S car, and it just seems to be cranking slower and slower. I have had it on a Battery Tender for a day or so, and it won't go to 'green'. Not good.

I got a Delco UN2794/8/3 part#4993-6YR. Weight:45 pounds. 1000 amps cold cranking power 825 A. I paid $181.15 (with all the canadian taxes). No problem so far. Plenty of power...

In my opinion and many others, the Optima isn't the battery informed people purchase - sort of like Monster Cables. They aren't reliable and offer no advantages in weight or cranking. Pluses are they're "pretty" and sealed which means they're potentialy mountable inside the vehicle. Inside mounting isn't practical in this application.
