Just ran a Honda CBR 1000
We were pulling pretty even until about 125 when we shut down due to some upcoming traffic (in Mexico, of course).
We pulled off and I chatted w/ him at the light. I said "Fast bike!" And he said "that is the fastest Porsche I have ever seen, I almost had to downshift." The light turned green, I waved and we were on our way.
Just how fast are these bikes?

Sean,
If driven properly, stock they probably run mid 10s and trap in the high 130s. Which is what your car will do if I had to guess.

Sean.
You asked how fast these bikes are....
2 different freinds of mine own 2007 CBR1000RRs.
Its hard to say how fast these bikes are as they vary in performance a good amount from year to year.
For example:
CBR100RR HP Specs
2004/2005: 148.6 hp
2006/2007: 158.8 hp
2008/2009: 178.0 hp
In the car world, the HP differences for this bike from year to year may seem negligible, but if any of you have driven a bike before a mere 5-10 hp makes a world of difference.
Also Sean, do you know if the bike you ran up against have mods? If so, even the most basic mods can easily add another 8-10 hp on top of these figures.
Just for reference, I ran my friend Anthony's 2007 Honda CBR1000rr that had a Pipe, header, Power Commander and HRC computer (no vid though). I was running 1.05 bar on 93 octane with a 200 lb. passenger in my car, myself of course (I weigh 180) with my 20" wheels on. He started out about 3 cars in front of me. We went all of 2nd and 3rd. And I made up 2 cars of distance before we had to let off. Basically I was slowly walking up on him.
I know a stock 2007 CBR1000rr can run a 139-141 trap stock (rider dependent) - my friends probably traps mid 140s.
A completely different bike, a modded 2007 Suzuki GSXR1000 (know to be faster than 07 CBR1000RRs) went up against me in this video (which you may have already seen) when I was running high boost: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CxsQQ43_KY&feature=channel_page .
Ive seen posts on supposedly stock 07 GSXR1000s running as high as 148.
Sean, were you running race fuel? I believe you said that you were running 1.1-1.2 bar during your run against that bike. If you ran 1.4-1.5 bar the result would be quite a bit different.

Pump....actually my car gets cranky on straight pump so for safety sake I run one gallon of race mixed w/ 4 gallons of pump when I run 1.1 bars.
On C 16 I would spank him but I was slowly pulling at 1.1. Liter bikes are no joke.

I smoked a vespa yesterday.....
But I agree smoking a 1000cc or more sport bike is nuts.
