Got rid of the nasty orange front turn signal

One thing that I don't like about the 996TT front is that orange sidemarker and the turn signal bulb. I finally got a chance to get some "chrome plated" orange turn signal bulbs and installed them.

Here's a pic of the bulbs in comparison:

Clean. What bulbs are those and could you post up a flashing of the bulb shot?

Do you know the exact code for the bulb? Can these be found at say a NAPA store? Can you get to this bulb from behind the head light...don't need to remove it? Looks nice.

I bought them off of ebay. I thought about getting the more name brand version but they all look the same to me and how often do these turn signals actually burn out? I'll post the flashing bulb shot later tonight when I get home.

The code is 7507 and is the same for the rear. I've been on some websites that show the rear code as different but it is the same. You have to remove the headlight to get the bulb out

Thomas,

I do remember seeing some at AutoZone (not sure if you have those in Cali) but they were chrome/blue/xenon look. I got chrome/orange for the front and chrome/red for the rears

It's amazing how such a little mod can change the look of the front. We have been using the Solaris Bulbs as a solution, definitely a recommended upgrade if you dislike the amber.

Repped. I've been wanting to do this for a while, but never got around to doing the brain damage to find the right bulb.

If you can, post a photo of the car from 10 feet in front. I want to get the "whole effect"

I have been using a blue bulb, looks good but I think the chrome clear ones might be better yet.

+1! I'm surprised I haven't seen more people do this. I would've went with Solaris but it was quite a bit more expensive. With that said though, I had a set of Solaris bulbs in my m3 and it's lasted over 4 years.

All depends if you like the blue hue and light or orange turn signal color
