Wheel Allignment Cost

Just put new tires on. The dealer in Monterey will charge me $280 for 4 wheel alignment, while Sullivan's Tire Pro store, who said they don't do very many Porsches, quoted me $109. They did tell me they use the same machine the Porsche dealer does. So what should I do?

the type of machine matters little...it is all in the skill of the operator...I would be concerned that they admitted they haven't aligned many porsches...toe is critical for handling and tire wear...the extra $180 bux, while it should include a corner balance at that price, could be money well spent...

My experience was... went to a indy, couldn't get it right... then went to a dealer, still couldn't get it right... went to a race shop, finally got it right. I spent $700+ total.

What he said ^

I ended up going to TRG to get a corner balance and alignment. Here's the post I made about it:

My indi also has a race shop. He set up my new suspension at his regular shop and took it too the race shop for alignment and corner balance. He charged me $250.

My indy gets about $300 for a 4 wheel alignment too. Pay the money and get it right the first time. Machine is only as good as the guy who is using it.

WOW! My local Porsche dealer charged me $420! I don't care what anybody says.... It's a rip off. He told me that even if no adjustments were required they would still charge me $420!

I'm guessing your in the market for an Indy. I'm pretty sure now that my warranty is up this month, my car will NEVER be at a dealer again.
