widest tire on OEM wheels ?

Ok, I thought you ran GT2 wheels?? I almost took the plunge to try out the Nittos in my last track tyre purchase, but a deal came by to get some Yoko A048's very discounted, they are on there now, OEM sizes. Maybe when they are done I will try out the Nitto's.
Tom, in that picture, what was your suspension setup? I imagine my car loads up more (softer springs) and is probably as low (1.25" drop).

that is not my final suspension set up softer springs but still look at my rear wheel orientation compared to yours in the pm you sent me and note the difference, my aggressive camber keeps the tire patch flatter than yours in a similar corner
my current setup

That's what I run, on my second set now and love the tires. No rubbing, no issues.

Thanks for the info. My case might not be quite the slam dunk yours is, I am on H&R springs only so the car will squat more in the turns than you guys with coil-overs. Still, I think it will be worth a try next time.

Digging up an old Steve-o thread here:
Re the 996 GT2
First, are the rear stock turbo twists 12 inch wheels?
Second, will a 335-30-18 fit the rear without rubbing?
I'm looking at R888's as my next set of tires.

have 315s on my 01, no roll no rub. but i also have ps99s, almost no travel, the wheels are fiske think the offset is almost same as stock, opps they could be wider, but never a rub. rob at scargo said i did not need to roll and he was correct.

hey tom, what size rim are you running in the fronts to fit the 275 hoo-hoos?
what are some opinions on running 255 in front on an 8.5in rim? do you think it wound be too narrow and cause a "bubble" effect or will it fit square? (for hoosiers)

back to 996 GT2 and 335s? [and foxworth...]
1- the stock 996 GT2 12x18s run 315s on the rear.
2- I would also like to know how 335s would do on the back of a stock 996 GT2. If you read tire specs, some mfgs would say 315s are undersized. 335 looks correct BUT will they fit. I don't feel like finding out the hard way that they rub.
ANYONE???
