sound system for GT2

I was wondering if anyone hear with a GT2 has done a sound system and what did you have done. I'm not looking for anything crazy and I wanted to look stock. Obviously the one thing that will be noticeable is the headunit.
I don't have much knowledge in this department so I would like to hear suggestions. I want a single DIN with CD player and IPOD connection. I would like high end speakers and amp and has to fit in stock location. What sucks about the GT2 is I don't have a sub and no speakers on the doors. All I have to work with are the dash and rear speakers.....4 speakers thats it. Can I get good quality out of just 4 speakers??

Thanks
Raudel

Raudel, check out the Alpine Ipod head unit on mine and Phil's car ,I am very happy with the sound quality.

For the hi-end speakers,it really depends on the type of music you listen to mostly ,I would recommand DLS topline producs for rock/pop/electronic/Dance music . Dynaudio and Rainbow speakers for Jazz/Classical .

You can easily get good quality sound out of 4 speakers .Actually ,the best stage and clarity coming out just 2 speakers ,lots of sound quality audiophile guy disable rear speakers and run front upgraded front speakers only in order to get the best image and stage .

Gary,
which model head unit do you have? Are you using the DLS? Do you know if they make the sizes I need for the dash and rear...also what amp are you using?

The factory give you a basic sound system for weight saving.

I have the iDA-X100 unit ,Alpine came out with a newer version iDA-x305 which looks identical but will work with Iphone, too.
http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...model=iDA-X305

I still have the factory bose system on the 996TT(no 900hp,need to save the weight for now ) ,but on the s4 ,I have DLS UP6 6.5 "2 way component for the front/Arc Audio xxk 4 channel amp/Image Dynamics IDQ 10" sub .

For a 996 setup ,I would suggest a 5.25" 2 way component for the front ,6.5" mid-bass drivesr for the rear( don't put another 2 way component for the rear like lots of shops do ,that usually mess up the sound stage),a 8" sub for the low ,and a muti-channel amp to power front and rear speakers ,a small amp to power the sub . DLS and other hi-end brand have all the speakers that will fit on 996 .

For a GT2 stock location setup ,check this custom setup by CDT audio for the dash
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsc...fAudioQ5fVideo

or the Morel ovation xo 4" point source speakers to fit under the dash
http://www.morelhifi.com/products/mo...ntegra_xo.html

And also consult to your installer about the products he is familiar with ,cuz a final sound adjustment and tuning is the only key to accomplish an utimate sound system .

Call Dennis Barish @ Dennis Barish Designs. He's on the West Coast but may be able to help you design a system for your needs. He's a 996 expert and has done hundreds of high end systems including mine which is amazing...

Has anyone tried to install a DICE ipod kit (or other ipod kit) into a 996 with a stock radio, no NAV? Is it even possible?
