65k miles... should i still use 0w40 oil ?
Guys,
Im gonna change my spark plugs by myself this weekend and decided to change the oil myself to feel like a mans man.. but anyway
spring is around the corner, with temps in the 50s and 60s ...
do you suggest for me to change to a different weight / brand ?
with new plugs etc i will be beating the **** out of the car for a few weeks, especially since i finally got an extra set of 18 inch wheels

I would try AMSOIL 5W-40
I changed from 0W-40 Mobil to AMSOIL 5W-40 and have 43k miles. I couldnt believe the difference! The car revs faster and idles smoother and the biggest thing was the power and lack of oil use!
I am not a believer in corporate sponsored oils - they are in business to make money, not keep your engine from wearing.....
My 2 cents - check out their website - it beats nearly every leading oil in independent tests too!

I use 0w-40 in the winter and 5w-40 turbo diesel truck in the summer or 5w-50....if de is in the cards.
Not sure if any test "ever" has shown amsoil better than m1 or worse. Porsche races M1. Yes there is money...but there is more money in winning. If the oil was that much worse that a person could "tell" on the street a difference...Porsche would not allow their reputation (and wins) to go down a notch.
My 2c. I don't sell amsoil or m1. I suspect amsoil is fine. Just not sure you can tell the difference.

There's a reason why it's factory chosen by Porsche. This is not a money thing. They choose what oil meets and exceeds the tests and requirements. Mobil 1 has been the only thing to do that for Porsche and for about 50 other vehicles.
You will not have any issues using 0w40 in any condition. It will stand up and protect in the worst of the worst heat and the worst of the worst cold conditions.
