996 TT fuel Pump Specs
Greetings guys:
I am pretty new to the Porsche world and so far Ive had some great headaches with my car. But got to admit I still love it !!! At this time I would like to know if any of you know the specifications for the stock VDO fuel pump found in our cars. I didn't find information engraved on the pump besides its VDO brand. Does any of you know the flow capacity of this pump and its related pressure? The reason been that I am actually using a Walbro 255 ltr/hr fuel pump since I understand the my stock pump is faulty. But I would like to know if I am okay with this or if I am forced to purchase a stock new one. Thanks in advance!!!

We used to call that cheapass pump the "Wal-blow" (as in blow-up), for a reason. Fine for Fords and Chevys, but I would strongly suggest using an in-line Bosch 044 pump for the P-car if you care about it.

Thanks for your reply jimmer23:
At least for now this is what I have as my fuel pump so nothing I can do about it. Plus my 1991 Eagle Talon Tsi with around 410whp has one of these installed for more than 6 years without any issues, which make me think that they are not that bad at all. What I really would like to know is the max flow of the stock fuel pump in order to assure that I am supplying the right amount of fuel to the car. If anybody knows, it will be greatly appreciated.

Stock pumps are proven up to 550-600 whp. As far as specs I think it has the same specs as the Bosch 040 pump.
By the way, I have an OEM take out pump if you are interested PM me.

Okay guys:
Now just assuming I need only the pump itself since I can do a pretty nice custom fit in the stock fuel canister, how much does a Bosch 040 and or 044 cost? I know for a fact that the main difference between both is that the 040 is an in-tank pump and the 044 is an inline one. In terms of flow, how much one differs from the other? To be honest, my preference would be a 040 since I want to do an installation as near as stock possible.
