tire cleaner

I use the Zymol tire to clean the rubber and then the Meguiars Glossy stuff (purple gel)....only problem is unless you let it dry for a long time, it puts black stuff all over the car as it sprays from driving

With the exception of Simple Green, I would not oput anything on your wheels that you would not put on your hood. Some of this stuff can get corrosive. Be Careful.....

PS21 will not hurt your wheels. I wouldn't use Armorall on anything. The silicons ruin rubber and plastic. Simple green is acidic based. Neither acidsor bases are good for your wheels or tires.

Ditto RBC - petroleum/silicone based products are the worst thing you can put on your tires / dash. Armor All is the worst offender with respect to this! Unfortunately, people keep using petroleum & silicone sprays because they perform well in the "shine" category.
With continued use and exposure to the elements you will get cracks in no time!
Addendum - I use P21S auto wash & wheel cleaner and it's awesome! Specifically formulated to peacefully coexist with the additives in german paint.

Simple Green is one of the best cleaners out there isn't it, I've been using it as a wheel cleaner for years now. I also use it on interiors, it's a GREAT carpet cleaner and stain remover!
I've been using a lot of A2Z though lately, stuff works fantastic, but it's really strong. I had a drip on my leather for a second and it totallly ruined the spot

Myth on both. First off, Simple Green can be drinken, that's the selling point NASA used years ago when they first got the product. The owner of simple green drank it to show them it was safe. It does have some alkaline content though (but so do a lot of car washes)
And AA will not ruin rubber or plastic, a lot of people use to say that because their dashes would fall apart and crack, but it's because of how old dashes use to be made, they are made differently now.
Also, AA was reformulized a few years back and is an awesome product. Just take a look at what the real detailers think about it on www.autopia.com
(now I may be mistaken on my information, but I'm pretty sure i'm correct, if you know otherwise let me know)
