Radar Jammers are illegal in the US (and I would assume Canada) and they dont work well since the police have many bands including broad band Ka.

Laser jammers are legal in most places in the US but I would wonder about Canada. They work extremely well assuming you get the right one and install it correctly. If they are legal in Canada, you will need one since radar/laser detectors do not offer adequate protection from laser. Since I got mine I have been lasered twice without a ticket.
I had mine installed so I dont know which wire they tapped into.

I have just installed the escort 9500.. hard wired it from the sunroof controls.. Think it was the brown and green.... Then it comes on when you open the car and switches of when you close the car...

Don't have a laser jammer but can help with the hardwiring of the radar detector. I somewhat followed these directions tapping into a wire up in the sunroof button cluster and hung the V1 up high on the glass with a suction cup.

Yes.. just took of the section around the roof lights/sunroof controls.. Just pop out the 2 black "glasses" and take out the two screws and you can take it down and tap into the wires..

Getting caught with a radar jammer is a Federal offense. The FCC and Military gets somewhat upset at RF signals being jammed, especially around air traffic control radars, you can figure the rest out.

Laser jammers are mostly legal (lasers are regulated by FDA last I remember) but check your local laws.

Have a look at the attached pic. I got a couple of warnings for not having a front plate. This was the perfect reason to put the plate on so it masks the view of the LD5500. When I do get stopped the cops cannot see it.
