Side window problem

Today my passenger window went berserk. As I open the door it lowers itself (rightfully) for a cm or so but then it goes up again so I can’t close the door. if I pull the door handle it goes down but when I release it it goes up. I've lowered the window via window switch, shut the door and wound the window up. It then just went mad with the door shut; going up, down, up down by itself (only for that initial cm). Whazzup anyone? ...

cycle the window all the way down and back up twice - see if that doesn't reset the thing

It doesn't... .

As I pull the handle, window dips as I release the handle it raises itself back up again.

I think it's either micro switch in the door handle or control module having read all the posts about it. .

Umm, did you read the link I already gave you. There are excellent DIY links in that link. The boxster DIY works nicely.

I have read the links. Thanks. But the regulator and the micro switch are two different things. I guess its all behind the door trim. I just hoped I can get to micro switch from the outside - the door handle.

4G64T is infamous around these parts
Had the same problem. I have replaced the Window regulator but the problem still occurs. I suspect it to be the Micro Switch. I will have to replace that next.

My window is fixed. The whole door handle mechanism was exchanged. It was the micro switch. Price -all in; 320 Euro at the dealer.

Is it better to replace the micro switch or the whole door handle mechanism? Do you know the part number of the Door Mechanism? Thanks.

Have the part number on the box - will let you know when home from work. The whole mechanism is only 126 Euros, I think is better to just change the whole unit. By the way I know why it failed on me after only 4 years… It says Made in France on it. Porsche really is more of a hedge-fund company nowadays than a quality automaker of the old days... :-).
