Will I regret buying a Tiptronic 996 TT?

Sounds like your wife is a baller.... You need to talk her into two Porsches, or make her buy it cash for you, that way you don't have to worry about that.....

lol, we did pay cash for the car; in fact, we paid cash for two cars within 6 months (one was a Pilot). Best decision we made or else all money went down with the market.

www.jomashop.com
Has saved my *** many times.
I get extra 25% off coupons from them....wheneve I do I buy a bag and hide it where my wife won't find it (often at my office at work). Then, whenever I need it, out comes the bag.
Another thing I do is, every night, I sit and give her 10 minutes of my undivided attention while she blabs on about "her day". I know, I know....doing so is turture, but try and pretend that you actually give a **** that her gossipy little co-worker is a **** (actually, I do care about that, , especially if it involves details).
Remember, women keep score differently from men....everything is one or two freaking points....buy an 80K Porsche w/ a tip instead of a 6 speed, 2 points, buy her a bag, 2 points, listen to her talk about the button that fell of her shirt in a meeting, one point. Don't stare at her hot sisters' **** during Thanksgiving, 2 points.

It's time to resurrect this thread.
Thanks again for all of your input, suggestion, and life lesson in terms of handbag budget that I never factor in in my car buying decision.
I DID IT!! I bought the following:
Year: 03
Model: 996TT w/ X50
Mileage: 32,500
Color: Grey/Black
Transmission: Tiptronic
Price: $49,000
Aftermarket parts: Bone stock, only has clear bra and 19" HREs (no stock wheels)
Yes, I kind of played nice in the end and accepted the tiptronic. After first test driving a 01', I was somewhat disappointed, downshift is OK but upshift is quite sluggish. I thought I would be ditching tiptronic. Then I test drove this 03, not sure if tiptronic was improved for that year, or X50 makes up the difference, I was pretty happy with the tiptronic. Being a SMG guy for quite a few years, I wasn't expecting any lightning shift speed with the tiptronic, but it's acceptable.
At least I showed my wife I sacrifice some fun for her, so she can forget any handbags or watches for now.
Thanks again everyone!! I am now officially part of this family.

Good for you man. First question. Do you want to go really fast? Or are you going stay stock? Track or drags? "Roll on" king or garage queen? We have a lot to talk about if you want to moddify.

I guess nothing major next as far as mod goes, more the cosmetic stuff to dress up my dream car. Body Kit? Wheels? Exhaust?
I am kind of thinking selling those HREs and get some BBS LMs....
