Practical Horsepower

I find the K24/18G's with injectors, pumps, etc. to be very practical - even in wet weather, it's not a problem.

Once I get this crappy exhaust off and some hi flow cats and straight pipes, things will start to rock, I am sure. I am curious what the exhaust on it's own is claimed to produce. I am putting the Fabspeed 996TT Sport Imported Racing 200 Cell Catalytic Converters with
Muffler Bypass Pipes.
Thanks though,
SWR

I believe it works out just a tad under 500 at the wheels, if I heard Kevin correctly. I am not really worried about 60 -130. as mentioned it will not be tracked at all.
Thanks for the nput though.

The purpose of the 60-130 is to put to rest fantasy power claims and unrealistic dynos.
Paulie had 24's, chip exhuast 5 bar on his old 996TT and it was about an 8 second 60-130 car. It was so slow that he sold it, and bought a GT2 and installed 24/18's just to compete w/ me.
You will not have a very fast car w/ stock 24's, however by upgrading the compressor you will see a HUGE power gain. It is simply one of the best and most efficient power upgrades you can do.

Just listening on the sidelines here. 550whp with stock K24's? Not gonna happen, sorry. Everyone says they don't care until they get a ride in a faster car. You will be VERY disappointed when you get your flashed K24 car out on the highway or track against an 18G car. If you already have the K24's, it really is foolish not to spend the extra $1500 or less (if you have it, of course) and have what most people consider the "best bang for the buck" with the exception of a flash. Just my .02... Do yourself a favor before you do ANYTHING, get a ride in an 18G car, then make your decision. There are a lot of people that spent a LOT of money and ended up where you could be, for much less.

In the dryer states, you could run drag radials on all four corners....or something like the NT555 RII's ( road race tire/ drag race compound) or Hoosier R6's.
I can spin them at 70 mph.....car I was recently looking at can at 90 mph...I think 4 digits is enough...but what do I know I should be in rehab for power addiction. As my signature would probably tell you

these cars can break loose drag radials at 70mph...is that correct? Wow (to say the least)

If I keep reading on this forum its going to cost me $1500 for a 24/18G upgrade, I just know it. Then can I stop with a 5bar and new tune? or are injectors part of the program? And 550 at the wheels then? (awd)

No, not 4 drag radials at 70....at least not the K24/18G cars....I don't have a Porsche....LOL

dublinoh,
You can stop with a 5 bar FPR and tune, but I'm pretty sure you will need injectors to achieve 550 AWHP.
IIRC, I was at 95% of injector duty with dual fuel pumps and 60 lb. injectors when boosting 1.27 bar and making 550 AWHP.

my goal is to have 600-650 rwhp on pump gas
i think that will be the perfect amount of power to have
obviously i would need really sticky tires as im rwd... but that should be good
then when i go to an event.. 800 on race gas should do the trick
