The Official- How to use your Durametric
Well, I'm new to Porsches and even newer to my Durametric tool.
So far I've learned how to pull the codes, reset the codes and adaptations.
I also figured out how to use the triggers.
I've also learned how to log "things".
I say "things", cause I got no clue what most of them actually do
I'm sure I'm not the only "dummy" here as to all these "things", and I'm sure some of you have figured out a way to track such things as A/F ratio since our cars have wideband 02 sensors, and monitor if your cars are running top notch. What I'm asking is, if we could get everyone who has any experiance with diagnostics using durametric to step forward and share their expertise Maybe even the durametric guys themselves

I live in Belgium and when Tony from EPL wrote a flash for me I always had to take a drive and log with my durametric software and sended the results back to Tony so he could make some fine adjustments
I had to log RPM , engine load ,air fuel from the 2 banks and also injection time.
You have to select the data you want to log and press start when it has to start recording when this is done you have to select stop and export the data and it will be stored as a excel file, Not difficult at all.

It is my understanding from the Durametric rep that Lambda (A/F ratio) readings are not representative at high RPM. The ECU won't provide a high enough sampling rate per second to give meaningful data.

That looks like a pretty good sampling rate per unit of time at high rpm (17 times in 0.6 sec.) I really don't know what rate is required to get accurate data. I posted info the Durametric guy gave me so I never actually tried to log any high-rpm data. Perhaps the build of his program has changed since I spoke with him last year.

The durametric software gets updates very often so I suppose it always gets better. You can download the newest software from durametric but you need the cable to make it work, also the less values you set for scanning the faster the program reacts,so if you would only scan rpm and a/f you would even get faster results than I did...

Also,
I was messing with the DUrametric today and found out that MAF Hot Film will give you the voltage of off pin #5 on thw maf, which can be useful when cleaning/diagnosing the MAF as per my DIY MAF article.
I also ordered Autoenginuity Tool today to compare the two, it seems more useful as it can be used on other cars, but we shall see

How to go from lambda value to A/F :
Just multiply the lambda value with 14.7 and you'll get A/F
So 0.8 lambda is : 0.8 * 14.7 = 11.76 A/F
If you want to change all values from lambda to a/f in excel you have to select an empty cell and select it, type: + and select the top lambda value, then type * 14.7 and enter, now you can pull down these cell and all lambda values will be set in A/F.
Difficult for me to explain in English but the simple way is to multiply the lambda value with 14.7 and you got a/f.

Ok, I got that
Now, if you could tell me step by step how to make a graph in excel? I keep on coming up with come goofy graphs.
