aerodynamics is a monster of a factor at that speed. I don't know how the GTR's Cd compares to the 996, but I have heard that the GTR becomes a dog at speed, so it may be much worse, then again that is what I heard not based on facts. Considering how much heavier the GTR is, the hp would have to be much more than you have IMO.

what are you putting down? 700 brake?

Would be interesting to know how much of a difference launch control, excellent traction control, and the dual clutch transmission with optimized shift points makes. Seems like that could account for quite a bit of it. There are not too many high HP R35 GTRs out there yet that I have seen. About 700 (Hennessey) it the highest I have heard of.

Actually, the GTR does have a very low cd at .27(the 996tt was about .32). That would seem to counteract the fact that it is a bit of a pig at high speed.

It would be interesting to know the mods on this car though, because that seems like an amazing first year speed.

Marty, the GTR made 700 rwhp UNCORRECTED RWD. It ran the 190 mph in AWD configuration and is probably in the neighborhood of 630 rwhp AWD or so SAE.

Tommy is going to drive "big red" and his quicksilver car today and tomorrow. He is shooting for 220+ in big red and 240 in his silver car. We'll see what happens... While conditions may sound ideal they are actually not for high HP cars. The tarmac is toooooooo cold to put down 1200+ rwhp. It actually needs some heat in it.

Congrats to all involved in making Joe's car GO GO GO!!! Joe, you'll have to give a full data dump on the experience at some point. There are a bunch of us who would love to know what it's like to experience that...

Good question. Or even rolling off the line versus dropping the hammer at 4-6k rpm. I would think that the 60ft time would not matter as much in the mile as it does in the quarter. interesting though.

They just ran a 231.4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Making it the fastest Porsche in the Mile ever. (Beating Eddie Bellos record as well.)
They are putting the 996TT on the trailer as they more than surpassed their goal and will now be focusing on the 997TT. Stay tuned to the threads for more updates.
