Well, the process to make them should be no different than the C4, so whatever those are going plus maybe 5% or so seems fair, if a large enough group goes in on this.

 

Thanks for the response guys. I am going to ask for some quotes but don't hold your breath I will need to infuse close to $50k in capital to get these going... I'm not sure how much I can sell to 1) ensure a quality product is made2) exceed my oppurtunity cost if I invested in something else and 3) recoup my cost

Edwin, I am sure we can get a fairly sizeable group buy going and we can start one now and let it go for 3-4 months to maximize participation. But if there is 40-60 minimum, that would be a good starting point. I think that 90% of the turbo owners in here would go for it. The factory lights are not that nice IMO, so I am definitely in and I would bet that the other turbos in my area would be as well. I will put this out to them.

 

Thanks for your support and help. I've talked briefly with my neighbor who imports/exports and he told me that usually a company in asia will not make batches of 500 unless 1) you have a lot of pull, 2) willing to pay top dollar for the 500 peices AND pay to hold exclusive distributorship and 3) promise to give them more business.

I am thinking of making the 996TT/C4S led lights as well as the 997.1 led lights but there are still a lot of hurdles to jump. Talking business talk here, I, as an enthusiast, want to get quality parts at great, affordable prices but as a business, the optimum price most likely will not be the "great, affordable price". I'll have to sell either A LOT of these lights at the "great, affordable price" (which I'm not sure how many TT/C4S are out there) or sell at few at insane above-optimum prices.

The main concern of mine is quality... I don't want to be pushing nor investing in non-quality products...mainly b/c some of you guys know where I live (jk)

well lets see how many people are really that interested.....the link above should tell us how many would have an interest. I really want these.

 

Wish this would of happened. Although i have a friend willing to do a conversion on our stock tails. only thing is the lense will be stock but he modded mine. Tinted and everything. He uses a paint on instead of sticker. He can do a full LED matrix inside the lights. Make them do patterns or whatever we want basically.

I've been down for LED tails. The stockies are so dated. Thanks Edwin for trying to do this before and again now. I'm happy to commit with $. I'm sure others feel the same if they know its necessary to make it happen.
