Thumbs up ALMS October 16th (Night Races !) Laguna Seca

Hi BayArea guys,

I suggest we do a little get together and go take part in checking out the upcoming ALMS race.

Laguna Seca ALMS

Audi Sports Car Championships
Fri, 10/15/2004 - Sun, 10/17/2004 (Tickets go onsale Monday, 1/12/2004)

History will be made when the American Le Mans Series races into the darkness in the four-hour main event on Saturday of theÂ_Audi Sports Car Championships.

Fire-breathing Le Mans Prototypes and GT cars will take the green flag at 4:00 p.m., then – for the first time in the 47-year history of Laguna Seca - race into the night before taking the checkered flag at 8:00 p.m.

Adding to the drama of the race weekend is the fact the race is the season-finale for the American Le Mans Series, thus championships and bragging rights will be on the line as the teams go all out for one last race on Saturday, Oct. 16.

Saturday's racing also features the final round of the Star Mazda Series.

Sunday, Oct. 17, will feature the SPEED World Challenge Touring and GT series, as well as a pair of races each for the SFRÂ_MazdaÂ_Miata Challenge Series and World Super Karts.

For more information, visit their website: http://www.americanlemans.com/

Anyone up for this?

Let the headcount begin

1. Fred

I would heavily advise people in the area to make the effort to go out there. The ALMS series puts on a great show and the driving is fantastic. Everyone is out there to compete and it shows with some very aggresive driving. Great event.

I already bought my tickets, but the parking is sold out and there is no P-car corral this year. The other parking really sucks, I wouldn't take a P-car there unless it's a Pepper.

Any ideas Fred?

Watching fire-breathing ALMS cars at night sounds like a lot of fun. I know some are going to T-hill on 10/15 and some to the DocWong clinic-drive on 10/16. Hmm...

Cars, cars, cars. I'm getting sick of cars. Think I'll get into flying instead.
