Check the top (perches) The mounts/bolts may be loose at the top mounting points causing the bearing plate to move when the car's weight is shifted.

Not normal! If installed properly there should be no coil binding or popping.

I just got the pss10 for 996tt from Vivid(great Deal and they arrived before I clicked PAY...lol) and had them installed. There is absolutely no clunking at all. So something is definitely wrong with yours and it may be the bearing plates above the strut. If the pads that come with the kit are not installed this may cause a noise.

I don't know about anyone else, but a suspension that goes "clunk" is not an upgrade. It's either the product or the installation. Given the number of PSS-10 installs that don't do it, plus Bilstein's reputation, my guess is installation. That obviously assumes a suspension that was in spec to begin with.

I love mine. They really made a difference, much stiffer than stock but they soak up the bumps better. I have mine set at GT2 ride height and I could have dropped them much lower, so the pss9 bumpstop issue, if there ever was one, is definitely solved. However I have a feeling it was an install issue, just like this is.

Also, the valving on the pss10 and internals are much better than the pss9's from I am told (by a few tuner/builders). All German, just like the car. Vivid has the best deals in Town, so go to Dan.
