Evoms or EPL

Famous last words I started with a Europipe Q2 also. BTW, you'll love the EP.

Stay Local. You are not looking to expand any performance envelope, and there is virtually no difference in flashes at the level you are seeking. (and Not saying there is a difference at higher levels..)
Having a local tuner (not a local rep for a tuner elsewhere) is IN-valuable.
Stay with a stock airbox. DO change exhaust- it will add dramatically to the experience.

i had four exhausts changed, including the europipe stage ii quiet, until i found the RUF550 that doesnt have the drone ! drone = 2250 to 2750 RPM range = loud continuous monotonous buzzing/howling/sustaining single low tone noise that runs through calcium deposits, ie. your teeth :> Note= This is the RPM usually found at highway or crusing speeds.

Think about where you will want to end up with the car. The flash won't do it for you for long. You should really be figuring out where you will ultimately want your car to be, and then get there with as few 'baby steps' as possible. this will ultimately save you $.

Tony at EPL has different sites he works with directly throughout the US. He can email files back and forth to get the car tuned in after you send him datalogs. He was the only tuner that would tune in methanol. I would rather deal with someone who knows the ECU than someone who uses outsourced generic tunes.
Like many have said, it all depends on how far you want to take the car. At the base levels most tunes will be very close but if you plan on doing more than the basics I would shop around. I went through 3 tunes till I found EPL and I am happy I made the switch!

Getting local support can really save on headaches. Even a simple task such as getting a flash can turn into a real pain if things don't go well. Whoever is close, reputable, and skilled can be a real resource when you need something out of the ordinary or simple help diagnosing a problem. This is especially true if you have can't be without your car for longer periods. (or simply don't want to be without it.)
A GOOD local shop with tuning expertise can take some stress out of the equation. With that said, you'll likely be happy whichever your decision.
I was very happy with Tony at EPL. He did some custom tuning and programming to my specification. I felt better knowing that he was in driving distance from my home. (The trip from MA to CT can be a nice one if not stuck in traffic.)

To the OP... It starts with a 'simple' flash & exhaust... but it's a slippery slope. Best to start building a relationship with someone nearby now incase you need more support in the future. Goodluck and honestly at stage one you'll love either flash.

i cant speak for Evo, but i used to have an FVD tune in my car then i got an EPL tune. you cant even begin to compare the two. Tony has a magic touch with these cars. it is not only blindinly fast, but it drives like a bone stock car until you put your foot into it.
i was recently driving it with my wife in the car and a kid in a new GTO tried to race me...i stomped on it and what seemed to be a fraction of a second i had put at least 200 car lengths between us.
EPL is the right choice.
