passenger side mirror

recently my passenger side mirror does not tilt down when in reverse gear to help me with parking, so i dont curb my wheels.
the battery recently went dead,
fixed battery problem and i noticed since then, the mirror does not tilt down anymore.
i have tried flipping the little switch on the driver side mirror control to both directions, and still does not work.
any one know how to fix this?

It sounds like the seat memory was reset (or erased) after the battery died. To have the passenger side mirror tilt down when in reverse, the transmission needs to be in reverse while setting (or resetting) the seat memory.

thanks Alpha,
how do i set or reset the seat memory?
do you mean tilting the passenger side mirror down and set it as one of the numbered settings on the seat?

Jeff -- On my '01 996tt, I put the transmission in reverse, then set the seat memory to whatever number setting I choose. You don't actually do anything to the passenger side mirror. Having the transmission in reverse while setting the seat memory tells the computer to tilt the passenger side mirror when in reverse for that seat memory number position.

That's a really cool feature that I didn't even know our cars had lol. I'll have to check my pass mirror next time I use reverse. It seems like I learn something new every day. Now if I can just stop forgetting something every day..........
