Todd (Blackhorseturbo) was kind enough to loan me his driftbox so I could get some 60 to 130 times. I had planned on doing so on Saturday night and when I went to plug in the driftbox the plug would not go all the way in the cigarette outlet. Are some care equipped with a shallow socket. Mine would not take my valentine 1 cable either. Just curious what my options are. Thanks in advance.

 

My V1 (with the "new" power cable) fit in just fine, for what it's worth. I have an '03.

 

Yes, some of the sockets are smaller than typical. You can sometimes use a plug adapter to add sockets of the "more standard" size. Or you can upgrade your lighter socket

I had searched and found that some cars needed this plastic sleeve as an adaptor, and you could buy it online.
Make sure your cig light fuse is also OK...I had purchased the plastic sleeve and then later found out it was just my fuse...and by then, I had hardwired my V1 anyway!

 

I'm guessing I could get an adapter at Radio Shack? Where did those of you who purchased the adapter get it from?

 

Porsche sells the "NEW" style reciever. there was a change in '02 i believe...
