Question on exterior modification

I currently looking for a 996 turbo, 1st choice is white, 2nd is black. I understand that buying a different car and changing the color will dramatically decrease the value of the car. However does that work the same way with body kits? I am very attached to the GT2 front bumper and spoiler. Is it better to buy a vehicle that already has this done (was it an option when buying new from the dealer)? or is aftermarket modification the way to go?

Thanks.

I dont see OEM GT2 parts severely affecting value. If you do it get ready to pay some coin for the OE parts. I believe there are some modifications required for front bumper to install correctly. (fan, radiators, etc...) On the color change- I would only do it if you buy the car REALLY cheap and it does already have high value. (high mileage or wrecked)

Ok, thanks. But how about non-OEM parts? I was doing a little research and it seems some third party parts manufactures have a good reputation, i.e. misha.

Value , in 2009 is really subjective. My bmw M5 is kbb'd at 55k but no one will pay that! LOL.
If you are attracted to the gt2 front bumper then you shouldnt give a hoot.
Yes i think it would be better to buy one that already has this done.
And no i don't think it was a dealer option.
