996 GT2 is infamous around these parts
I had no idea that the GT2 was completey different from the 996TT I use to own. I traded the 996TT because of the braking system and the horsepower that the GT2 offered. Also arent the GT2 rims in the rear like a inch wider then the TT?

First of all, congratulations on your GT2. The wheels are an inch wider in the back. No need to change the suspension at all, just make sure that the suspension is per factory specs and that's it really. Unless you will track the car exclusivaly, there's no need for any suspension change on the GT2. Comes perfect as it is.

And the rims are also a lot porkier than the Turbo´s, front & rear. Save the money on the suspension and replace those boat anchors with some Kinesis wheels.

Are the '04 GT2 wheels in "GT3 style" as heavy as the '03 solid spoke wheels? Anyone know the weights?

Starting with the '04 GT2 production , the suspension was modified by the factory to answer some press and owner feedback regarding " at the limit" behavior and steering feedback on the track.
The car is already difficult to maneuver in some urban settings ( driveways to gas stations and parking structures , etc., ) as it rides at 25-25.25 " stock height to the fender lips , compared to 26.5-26.75 " stock reg Turbo .
I'd leave it alone.

I dont mean to sound rude, but how could you not realize there is major differences in a GT2 from a 996TT when there is an $80k price difference? That is like the difference between driving a bicycle or a 911 Carrera.

I just didnt know how much it was changed internally that most people dont know thats all. Also for some show rims, I was thinking about some Hamann Forged Limited Edition.

That would be sweet, just make sure you get LIGHTWEIGHT wheels... that car is soo fast, and if you lighten the wheels... OMG it will be awesome. Rayes engineering Volk TE37s are a great wheel btw.
