Techart wheel cracked

I've had a slow leak from one of my Techart Formula rears for a while - pulled it off yesterday to see a hairline crack near the inner lip. Think this is something that may be repaired? Anyone know of whether it may be repaired? I could really use a break about now - can't shell out $1K for a new wheel these days. Thanks so much!

It can be welded. I had that done with one of mine. Check around for a good rim sop in town.

I found a local shop that specializes in repairing them - sent a note last night and am hoping to drop it off today to have it repaired. They seem very good - here's their site: http://www.fastforwardwheels.com/index.html Hope this helps your buddy!

They used to be a sponsor on here but were kicked off pretty recent. Do a search on the name.

Hope it all works out for you!

I spoke with Eli and he explained the entire story - seemed like he was very reasonable from what I gathered. I'll post a reply once i get the wheel back to let everyone know how it went. Thanks for the heads-up!

So Eli explained it and he was 'very reasonable'????? You are not getting it.

"repairing wheels" is something that should NOT be done for some wheels, and a company that grinds, welds, repairs wheels without SIGNIFICANT test and inspection is a risk I won't take. While some wheels CAN be repaired, in this case the company risked peoples lives with their 'work'...inexcusable, strike one and you're out

As these cars move downmarket, people are willing to cut corners, keep their mouths shut and pass all kinds of horrors down to new buyers....
