Fake Badging? 996TT-997GT2
#16
I didn’t look at the pics but I wouldn’t buy a Wicked car.
Get a turbo, and that’s all she wrote. If you want one that is modded, just be patient and browse the forums. I’d much rather have one from a fellow 6speeder than some company that buys cars no one wants, and converts them like that.
And no, fake badging is a no-no…might as well put a Type R sticker on at that point.

That's not cool? I better go take it off of the back of mine. What about the Nismo vinyl graphic that covers all visibility through my windshield? I know THAT is cool, right?

Wow, thanks for all the good advice. I admit when i first saw it i was very impressed with the look. One poster said if you want a newer car get it, and another said the price of 997s has been going for fairly cheap these days. I haven't been able to find a good one for less than $85-90k and that is a little out of my price range.
I do like the 996 look, but after seeing that wicked car, they look kinda plain to me now.

I can't believe you guys are actually debating whether or not the new guy should buy the Wicked car. Good advice
STAY FAR AWAY FROM WICKED. This has been discussed to death here - do a search. Not only are those cars salvage or wrecked titles (floods, crashed, stolen, etc etc), but the way in which they're put back together is far less than "factory spec". Those things are rolling death-traps, go buy something else.

The Wicked car LOOKS amazing, but they use cars that have been wrecked and "rebuild" them, so it most likely carries a salvage title and was a wrecked car. That could lead to bad allignments or worse! So, for that reason I'd be very weary. Now, if it was a theft car that was rebuilt, then I might not have that big of reservations about it. It certainly looks nice, but it depends on what you want to do, if you'd like to mod the heck out of the car, then the Wicked car (assuming everything's straigth on it) may be a better platform because you wont feel weird taking out the K16 turbos, whereas you may not want to do that to the K24's, but if you wanted to mod the existing turbos, then the K24's are your better choice for power gains. If the Wicked car is the one that you're more interested in, then you better have a VERY thorough PPI done and find out the story behind the car. But as is, I'd prefer the TurboS. More power, newer, less mileage and no stories. But I do think the Wicked car looks are hard to beat. In this economy, you could probably talk them down to the mid 50's, but be VERY weary. Find the VIN and do a carfax to find out if it's even a car you want to mess with.
There are very few owners that are willing to buy these frankencars... they may look great, but the resale marketplace for such extreme 'transgender cars' is limited.
Drive the car you can afford.... my 2 cents
