rather have a gallardo or 996tt?

OK.. I have a big list of things I want to do to my 2003 996tt tip.. from turbo's, suspension and body kits... but I am wondering if I should but the money into my 996tt OR sell the car as is and buy another gallardo... what do you guys think? whats the reasons you have your 996tt over a gallardo or ferrari? I miss the exotic feel & looks of the gallardo.. but the 996tt is a great car, never had any problems with it..

thanks .

IMHO, in two years you TT will be worth $39K and the money you upgrade with will be lost. I'd get a Gallardo, it will depreciate, but will hold some of the value.

If you're looking for a DD, I'd get the TT. If you just want a car to drive once in a while and feel like you own the world - Gallardo

I guess I was gonnna say the same thing. The maintenance cost would scare me away. I learned a LONG time ago, it doesn't pay to buy cars as investments, although we ALL think about how much it will be worth when were ready to dump them. I bought my TT with NO forethought into resale and have modded it as such, KNOWING I will not get my money back on my "investment" (SEE!). If the gallardo makes you feel good, go for it...They are toys, albeit expensive toys, do with them as you do with toys.

I had my gallardo for a little longer then a year no maintance issues at all... a FERRARI yes, they need more attention.. the gallardo could be used daily also... reason I sold mine was because it was a 6 speed.. got tired of shifting and it was pearl yellow.. drew ALOT of attention... but I do miss it..

i think if you have the resources to pull a gallardo, 100% go for it. modded 996tt's are sick cars for sure, but the gallardo's a true exotic and rarer automobile.

+1 .. You have had both. Just step back and think about which one REALLY made you feel happier to be in. The G is a beautiful car. I got my TT because it is all I have wanted since I was about 13. They are expensive toys so make sure you are not settling ... and getting EXACTLY what you want.

If the 996TT is unmodified and you are planning to get an LP-560 rather than an older model, I might do it.

I love being in a real sports car so bad that I use my TT whenever the weather is kind, instead of my srx, So I need something to haul up to 3 other people (wife and 2 kids). A 2 seater would obviously not work...

But when the time comes that I do not have haul them I would the Lambo....

well I did I have 6 speed... but I dont like 6 speeds so I think that was a major reason for me to sell my car last year.. a stock gallardo is quick.. but not compared to a modified 996tt... the lambo draws a lot of attention... that was the other reason for me to sell it... I had my lambo and 996tt and the same time and I went to drive the lambo when it was just a joy ride,, drove the 996tt as a normal car.. If your lambo will be just a toy.. then I say yes get it, but if you use your 996tt as a normal car, you wont be able to use the lambo like that, I have a rover so I dont need my 996tt as a normal driver.. dont know if this helped you, NOW back to my issue...lol

Boca get the Lambo. You have a DD so the Lambo will be your toy. Just do it and don't even think about it. I'd get one in a NY minute if I could afford one. The Lambo has plenty of power. That shows how jaded we've become when 500 hp isn't enough.

In one of your earlier posts, you said Ferraris are costlier to maintain. I've always thought Lambos and Ferraris were about the same, can you elaborate from you experience?
