New to the forum
I just purchased a 2004 Turbo Cab X-50 from a store in Cleveland and drove it back home to San Diego. It is black with a Savanna Beige interior. When I drove it out of the store, it had 5800 miles. It looks and drives like a new car. I bought the 996 because I love the body style.
My first Porsche was a 2006 Cayman S. Loved the car, but it simply didn’t grab me like the 996 turbo for its styling and pure power.
Driving it home, it was well behaved, unless you put your foot in it a little and then it was really quick.
I've owned some fast cars; (2) corvettes, an AMG merc, even a 289 cobra some years ago, and this car is the fastest I've ever driven.
I have been hanging around your forum for a while, and this seems to be a knowledgeable group. I have a lot to learn.

Thank you all
We flew back to Cleveland to get the car, drove down to Cincinnati to visit for a couple of days with our family, and then started to go northward to take in some sites, but the snow kept forcing us south until we got to the 40. We encountered some snow east of Flagstaff, but not much from there.
Steady speeds around 75 or 80 and the car just hummed along. Smooth as silk
As you all know, it handles like it's on rails, but the all wheel drive takes some getting used to.
We ended what was a pretty uneventful drive in Las Vegas, where we got rid of our left over money, and then on to San Diego, where it was 98 degrees when we arrived.
Loved driving the car, the seats are amazing and there is plenty of room.
I probably won't take it on any long trips any more, but I'm looking forward to meeting with other Porsche people in Southern California.
