Make my wheel decision for me....
I think I have narrowed down my wheel choice to the CCW SP500 wheel. Now the decision is 18 or 19s....18 would easily be my choice, but I'm not so sure that the 18s would fit the car well (in terms of looks). The stock 18" wheels look good because the spokes go all the way to the edge of the wheel where as the CCW wheel has a lip. Also, tires are much more abundant and cheaper in 18" applications. I am looking to run a VERY aggressive tire. As for the 19s, i think they will look the part but dont want to sacrifice performance. What say you?

Nice looking wheel. I can see your dilemna, I think with that particular wheel it would LOOK better in 19, but with the 996's 18's are the better wheel choice if you plan on aggressive/spirited driving or even light track action. If you're open to other wheels, I like the Champion Motorsports wheels that I posted a pic of below.

i have two sets of 19"s currently (1 being a set of champion rg5Bs).. I REALLY love 5spokes, so i want to try that out. BTW< the CCWs are much lighter than the stock hollow spokes.

I opted for 18's strictly for performance. I think if you lower the car, the issue with looks goes away.

19s require some careful consideration and a lot of attentive driving. Do you live in a pothole heavy place? The 25 series sidewalls do not offer much give. It's very easy to dent your rim if you catch 1" of driveway when turning in.
if you go 19s I recommend running 40 to 42 PSI in the rear at all times.

I have 20's on my car and run a
245/30 - front
305/25 - rear
I am not all that careful either - I get on it and drive the car and have fun.
As long as you are careful going over bumps - and watch for pot holes - you will be OK. They look amazing as well - and I am pretty low as well.

CCWs are good wheels, but I think you could get a set of slightly used HRE or Champions for the same money. The PES GP7s are nice wheels too, made by Champion and reasonably priced.

People go from 18" to 19" for looks.
People go back from 19" to 18" for performance and reliability (one little rock or pothole can be costly on 19").
If you find the right wheels, 18" can look very good especially lowered like ttboost mentioned. I vote for 18"s.

lots of good feedback here. I now what my next thread is goign to be.... I keep going back and forth, but I think I am probably more performance-oriented than my care for bling, so I think I like the idea of 18s. Keep the suggestions/opinions coming. I REALLY APPRECIATE IT.

Lighter? Wow- whats the weight difference between these in 19's and the hollow spokes? Maybe I should reconsider then too
