I agree with the LA residents...
The last time I`ve been to LA I was suprised how many german cars I saw....
Just like in Germany there was a Bimmer here,a Benz there and every other corner a P-Car cruising down the street, with the only difference that the US owners generally tend to be more into modding, which is a definite plus imo

So when I'm in SoCal...I spent an hour sitting on Montana Ave. in SM (while the wifey was shopping for clothes)...I actually counted the MB, BMWs, Exotics and Porsche. 3/4 of the cars was a Benz or Bimmer. Always see at least one turbo/day. In Boulder...there are 3-4 that I know of and see around once a week.

In the little backwoods town of Rancho Cucamonga I might see one every few weeks.

I lived in downtown Chicago when I was in law school and I rarely saw anything cool, except when they closed down Oak Street and put a bunch of Ferraris on there....otherwise, slim pickings....except the girls which were extremely good looking...wholesome girl next door hot w/o a lot of the after market parts like they get out here...plus a much more grounded w/o the "head full of snakes" you encounter in these neck of the woods.

Oh yeah, we were talking about cars...
You guys must have a "Silicone Magnet" in the Silicone Valley. My Ex, althou from Chicago, bolted to LA right after the "Silicone" treatment.

I rarely see 996 TT's except for another one that parks at my work garage, but I do see 997 TT's with regularity around the Bellevue, WA area.

I'm very fortunate. I see one or two porsche Boxters or caymens, a Cayenne, or a 911, maybe an occassional 944... I NEVER see another Turbo, unless it's one of THESE GUYS coming to my house for a session on the lift!

There's a yellow one that is somewhere close by... i see the guy driving it a couple times per year... he waves, I wave, and that's about it... Don't know him, and don't think he's an internet ***** like me!

You need to get out of the mountains and into town more often!

Although, I will take the open roads you have out there in trade for some of the forsaken gridlocks we have in here!

Rare to see another here in my part of Denver. When I do see them they are usually going the other way.

Rare in central Ohio...maybe see another turbo every month or two. I get thumbs up at the gas station...at lights etc. Very few haters here.
