Please help me find a rebuilt 996 tiptronic trans
Porsche NA has none. We have contacted Germany. Does any one know how I can get my hands on a rebuilt or new 996 Tiptronic tranny? Thanks guys.

Not rebuilt, but I bet they have some low mileage ones. Don't let them rip you off!

They are the same guys that I told you about if you want to change out your carpet. The owner of Precision knows them so let me know what price they give you...maybe we can get it down some

Just said good bye to the truck that's hauling my transmission to California. Should be a couple weeks before I can drive her again... In the mean time, I'm upgrading my interior a bit with some custom painted pieces. Pics later.

Mr. Blackhorse,
I was just wondering why do think you dropped your transmission? How often did you launch the car from standstill? Have you been to the drag strip?
I heard from talking to several transmission people that the first gear hard launches is where the transmission will receive the most amount of damage. One the car is rolling it doesn’t take as much abuse. The second killer I am told is heat which I plan to remedy with a separate trans cooler.

Hi Vince,
I have never 1/4 mile tracked the car. I've only launched from first a few times on the street and spun all the way thru 1st and into second.
Looking back since going to 24/18's, 3rd gear immediately began to give out. We noticed this on the dyno first but didn't think much of it. It acted as if it went into neutral for a split second on the dyno. Later, as I was attempting 60-130's, it would not shift from 3rd to 4th very quickly but still managed a 6.89. I thought it was the tune. Now, it won't shift at all from 3rd over 4k RPM's. Transmission guy thinks its the 3rd gear clutch packs as they are the weakest in the tip. I am planning on a tranny cooler tho.
