This high HP race is getting out of hand. A turbo porsche is suppose to have enough performance to lead the field for 5 years at a stretch. What specs will the next turbo have?

Not with 480 HP it doesn´t... It might need at least 550 HP to lead the pack it seems...

Porsche has never had the lead in horsepower wars. I don't expect them to change now.

 

Not in absolute hp, but the turbo acceleration times (due to power-weight-etc) were always neck and shoulders above nearest contenders for more than a year for each generation I thought. It seems the 996TT is being eclipsed too soon. I know it's been almost 5 years already since the 01TT, which was pretty amazing at the time to be in the 400hp club for its class. But what's next for porsche? It seems everyone has a 500hp and 4sec or high-3-sec car now or in the works for 1/2 the price.

 

C6 Z06 looks better, with 500+ hp from 7.0L it will be fast and all for around 60K. Probably 0-60 4.0 seconds, 1/4 mile 12.2 around 118-120 mph. Now how many people ready to sell their 600hp TT and get the Z06?????????

FYI, the normal C6 is close to those times, stock cars are reporting mid to high 12's now. With an extra 100hp, those times should be better than that...

I won't be selling my Turbo but I may get a Z06 for a track car. It's a nice kit for not much money...

what are you talking about? the new Z06 is gonna be faster than an SRT-10....

 

If you believe everything you read like most people, the new Z06 will do 0-60 in 3.5 and do the 1/4 in 11.9 at 122mph...
Try launching a the car on street tires and getting to 60 faster than an AWD car??????
Numbers lie people, just numbers to sell cars, meaningless..

If you believe it, buy it and sell the TT and you will lose...

 

You dont believe the C6 Z06 will go 11.9 bone stock? Thats strange because even the current Z06s have ran that time bone stock on street tires. Even with all the hype, I still think this car is going to suprise a lot of people.

of course people will try to get a markup for the idiots that don't know better :Confused:

 

On the other hand, try launching an AWD car to get the "magazine numbers" and you'll end up needing a new clutch after three to four tries. There's two sides to every story.
