Probably a resonating tone - at around 2K is where the dreaded drone usually begins

I had (have) exactly the same problem....

after I changed my exhaust a rattle from the rear of the head liner got a lot worse.

I reduced the problem by inserting foam in the slot above the headliner right where it ends over the rear window.

Still not perfect - but better.

Seems there's a plate or something similar which terminates the headliner at the rear and slots into the bodywork.

It can work loose and cause a rattle which is aggravated by after market exhaust.

i've been thinking the same thing after a few thousand miles...

eventually i just try to drown it out. i've given up trying to fix every rattle in the car. the car is no longer stock so i can't expect it to be quiet like one right?

I am SOOOO glad I went back to the stock exhaust, which is raspy enough when I need it to be!

When I put the AWE muffler/cat deletes I noticed more rattles as well. Mostly the seat belts vibrating off of the door jam area. Even though it rattles, I still have a gigantic smile on my face everytime I drive it though. =)

Eh, the loudness is relative. At 3k+ rpm I don't hear any interior rattles. =)
