BallinGPM is infamous around these parts
Went from 2007 750li and 2006 supercharged range rover being my daily drivers and then sold them both and bought the 02 turbo. Huge adjustment...

I actually have a unique situation where I went from a Mustang to a Corvette to a BMW MRoadster to the 996TT... My Vette was tracked fairly much in the 2.5 years I owned it, and it nickled and dimed me to death... Blowing the motor and then breaking the torque tube were the final straws for me... Then I fell into the 2002 M Roadster and thought hard about tracking it... I changed my mind when I saw how much it was going to take to install the proper safety equipment to track it and that's when I decided to sell it... I kept that car less than a year...

So when I decided to search for a new car, I had a short list...

Ferrari 355F1 Coupe
Dodge Viper Coupe 2004-2006 model
Chevy 2007 Z06
Porsche GT2/3

I located 3 of the 4 and made the decision to start shopping... I ended up making plans to first check out a "GT2 killer" at the local (former) Porsche dealer in Charlottesville, Va., then hop over the mountain to look at a low miles 2007 Z06, then hop on a plan and head to Florida to check out a 2006 Viper Coupe...

So when I arrived at the BMW dealership, they had a 2003 Turbo S sitting there in Silver... Bone stock... And they had a BLACK 911 Turbo idling... It sounded LOUD and looked evil... Menacing with the Sport front aero lip and rear GT2 Wing. It was setup as it is now with coilovers and some GT3 Eurospec seats in it... I test drove the car and was done... NEVER DO THIS... I paid full price (Minus $700) and the hook was firmly lodged in my throat... They had me... The car was modded with UMW turbos and some other stuff that made it brutally fast... And it had all the receipts and records from the previous owner, who it turns out has a business 10 minutes from my home.

I NEVER left the BMW/ Porsche dealership...

Mike

I had a 2004 BMW 330Ci ZHP and a 2000 Corvette coupe... The 996 TT is the best of both worlds...the power (and lots more of it) of the Corvette, plus the fit and finish of the e46

So pick one, and if you are "other", list the most recent car you moved from into a (your first) 911 Turbo/GT2 (993, 996, 997).

Cheers
I'm a former Supraforums guy... from 1998 and the MKIV list.

92 Honda Prelude
94 Honda Prelude VTEC
93 Supra Turbo, single
94 RX7 R2
92 MR2
94 Supra Turbo
97 Supra Turbo, single
97 NSX
97 Supra Turbo, single
03 Turbo

All around, I think the Porsche is the best all around car of the lot. Two of the Supras were mind numbingly fast. And the NSX is still the most fun car to drive. I am going to get another one!

A...that's funny I thought the same thing only with the GT3 sets there is a bit of a trick to it so that's what I thought the thread was about...

Had a supercharged Honda S2000 at around 360-370whp (I know you all laugh, but it was pretty quick and a great track car). 996tt was the only next route as everything else that I wanted was slower in every way.

FYI: For those who didn't get an E90 M3, I feel your pain. Car was amazing, but not fast enough. I am in Germany right now and watched/participated in the 24 hours of nurburgring and almost every team ran an e46 m3, only a few or maybe one with the e90.

Monthey Porsche GT3RS took the win over the factory Audi R8. Car was on KW Suspension btw.

I always wanted a 911 turbo but it was never possible until the recent price drops.

Still in new orleans? I just sold my 94 Supra single and am picking up an 03 996 wednesday in Atlanta. My supra is leaving home tomorrow morning, very sad few days for me.
