Aftermarket Front Hood/Trunk Dampers?
Does anybody know if there's one out there? or should I just replace them with the OEM's?
I recently found out that mine are losing pressure inside the dampers, the front hood/trunk will stay open only @ the highest position, while the damper doesn't push it up even when it's open over 50%; got the back of my head banged pretty hard last night...

thanks for the input, i think i'm just gona go ahead and order the OEM ones, get it to a friend whom makes these for some Lexus models that don't come with one, have him take down the measurements, and see if we can work out some magic; the mechanism is honestly not that complicated.

do you have a link to their site? or to a site that sells that item? thanks!

Pelican Parts offers them, I didn't see one for the 996 on their site, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist, so I'd call them just to find out. here's the Weltmeister Heavy Duty one for an earlier 911. Good Luck!

No, but I wonder just how different the 993 and 996 really are???
