GT28 vs K24 pros and cons
#3
I have but there are a lot of threads to sift through not directly related to my question. I'm just asking for a brief down and dirty from experienced people...nothing that would take up too much time. Thanks.

Actually I think OP is right, I'm considering the 2 myself as well and that is no definitive post on the merits of the two. For example, which one has better top end? which one has better spool? There seems to be a lot of differing opinions as well, some possibly confused about which GT28 they are talking about.
To be specific let's compare the new Tial GT28 (not the old one with K16 hotside) and K24/18g

Posts by Tony@EPL and ttboost will show a lot of data.
Seriously, tons of info on these on a lot of posts. You have to be willing to read through it, which is great to learn. This is what I have done over the past year.

Last I knew they were still using GT28/k16s on both kits.

Not to mooch off of all your work over the past year flash68...but since you have looked over it over the last year...what have you learned? I'm just trying to be efficient...there is a lot of info out there...and since you have spent so much time over the last year looking at it maybe you can spare some of us? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks a lot.

sometimes a search is useful, other times it may just show old news.. all depends on how recent the same questions came up, I believe the TIAL gt28 is some what new,, I dont know how much info you will find in the search, BUT its worth a try... or speak with a tuner and ask them directly... my next project is turbo upgrades... seems like the newest option out there is the GT28 turbo's.. I still dont know which way I'm going..

I think the jury is still out on the new Alpha series GT28's. On paper they look very promising. The K24/18G is proven and sets a fairly high bar for a simple bolt on package. They spool very quickly, have a fairly strong top end and are a great all around turbo choice. What we need now is for some Alpha GT28's to run the 1/4 mile a few times and show us some ET's and trap speeds. IMO, if they can run high 10's with AWD, at full weight, on street tires, at about 1.3 bar, with an average driver like myself, then that would be compelling. Additionally, if they can consistently trap upwards of 133 MPH in said runs (AWD, street tires, full weight), that would be an additional confirmation of their performance. I have not seen any 1/4 mile times for the Alpha 28's yet, but would be very interested to see what these can do...

After building both k24/18 and Alpha 28rs cars..... I can honestly say that 28s > k24/18g.
Have you driven a car with the NEW 28 bolt ons?

Tony,
Has anyone that you know of 1/4 miled these yet? I would love to see a few "non-meth" A28 time slips, to compare to the many 24/18G runs...
