Anyways, I destroyed to GTR, it has a cobb tune, exhaust, intake, and midpipe not sure what the power level is but he told me he had made 580whp on a dynojet. The race was fun, I dont know if he will ever race me again but next time ill make sure we have a video. He was a really good sport even after loosing.

The car is a beast, I love it. It just sucks driving around town because of the ECU issue I am having but that will be resolved quickly. The car is very desiving, it doesnt throw you back and forth like the manual cars but when you look at the numbers you know you are really moving. The spool of the turbo is crazy when I took off I instantly pulled 2 cars and then began to walk away at 130 I had to shut down. I am looking forward to running Vinod's car tonight if the weather clears. Also I forgot to mention there was just one guy in the GTR and me and Vinod in my car. I could have had another car length if his 190lb was not in it.

Mike, I think the GTR makes about 420 whp mustang dyno, so he maybe picked up another 120 whp (Tune,Intake,Exhaust,Midpipe, maybe wastegates) by mustang dyno standards. So on a Dynojet he is reading 590 whp...makes sense right? Either way 996tt with upgraded turbos almost always wins races with GTR. maybe a GTR with 800 Hp will be able to hang with a 996tt...

I'm certainly not knocking Vinces car, and having 2 people in it makes it more impressive! (Who goes racing with a carload of people anyway!)

I know dyno numbers are crap, thats why I question 580whp on an exhaust/tune. Seems optimistic. Lets do the math and forget about WHICH dyno it's on: GTR=480hp-crank. 18-20%DL loss=400-425awhp? Exhaust and a tune on a 996tt gets you about 75-80awhp right? How are they getting another 80-100whp? Dyno THAT optimistic? Anyway, I know first hand how fast Vinces car is. I also know how fast a stick can be. Good Luck tonight and be safe and have fun.

It is also depends if the GTR ran high boost with racegas

My friend 996tt Proto k24/18g raced modded GTR ...On 1.3bar from standstill he ran neck2neck on low speeds but after that he start to pulled the gtr ...On 1bar rolling 80mph he beat the gtr half car.

Same GTR raced flashed 997 gt2 from standstill and beat it 2 cars but the distance was short ( almost 1/4 mile ).

The same flashed 997 gt2 beat SLR..The 997 gt2 was infront of the SLR until they slow down ( the gt2 was on 6th tranny )

It is depends on the rolling speed and the distance.....I know GTR accelerate slower on higher speeds.

Here my friend Proto upgraded 997tt against GTR 680hp on crank.....The camera on rear of the 997tt.

On both rans the 997tt let the GTR jump first...The GTR on the left side

The 997tt ran 60-130 in 6.8sec on vbox
The gtr rans 1.4bar
the 997tt slow down after hit 187.5mph
the 997tt ran 0-187.5 in 22.5sec on vbox

Here is the vid ( Sorry sond not work )

Correct me if I am wrong doesnt Dynojet post #'s almost 15% higher than mustang dyno? So maybe the GTR has only 500 whp on mustang. Maybe this guy is running higher boost with upgraded wastegates...not sure how he makes that power. He might just be BSing us on the dyno #'s.

He has a c6z06 with cams and headers which we know puts down 520 rwhp. He claims that his GTR pulls on his Z06...which i dont buy. I drove his Z06 its an animal.

Right, dyno numbers are for hanging on the wall. That's why everyone here demands 60-130 numbers or trap speed...MUCH easier to compare performance. I'll bet both you guys are in the 6.6-6.8 area though...

That's what i am thinking. Maybe with meth and custom tune i will be in low 6 sec on my 18g 6 speed car. You should run a 60-130 with your current setup too.

Been there done that...in my Sig. Don't be dissappointed if at first you don't succeed. Seems easy, but you'll have traction issues, bumpy roads, missed or crappy shifts...etc...You'll run a bunch of 7.0's and 7.2's and all of a sudden out of the blue is a 6.7...

My best without Meth at 1.2bar is 6.61.
