are your 18g's pushing this much low end torque. I have not seen this kinda torque low end from 18g's before. I can see this being a problem for internals. It may not be a high hp, but that low rpm torque could cause problems.

I cant wait to get this car to my home from CT. I dont plan on launching the car. It will probably be my semi-daily driver and used for highway pulls here and there. I dont think that internals will be affected because the power is ramped up very smoothly. As Tony mentioned he took it easy...If I need more power I will just ask.

You make a very valid point. Sadly no one will know until stuff happens! I would imagine it will be hard to estimate the theoritical bending stress on the rods and issues with the tensile strength of stock stud bolts at high hp and rpms, as there are several factors involved and way too many scenarios it can happen.

One can only hope to keep it safe from a tuning standpoint and run good quality gas. Overtime it could cause stress or maybe it just will handle this kind of TQ. Its tough to tell unless someone is willing to test disassembling their engine

Either way there is one thing we know for sure, when we push the power levels of a stock engine to almost an incremental 85% of stock capability, there has to be a substantial erosion of factory built in design safety factor. This is probably the reason why many EU tuners proactively build internals for long term reliability, esp when someone is beating their 700 hp + car day in day out on the autobanh or Autostrada.

Also my understanding is Higher power levels increase the compressive force on the connecting rods while higher rpms increase the tensile strain on the rods. JohnD's car is the best example of high mileage use on a 700HP engine K24/18g on this forum as far as i can tell. It would great if someone can run a endurance race like bathhurst 24 hrs or something like that on a tuned stock internal car.

I was at 700TQ on stock bottom end and this is the picture of my rods when we pulled the engine out. No damage. Tuning is the key.

Art, how about the tranny. Any damage there or is it in good shape. Are you getting a cooler, steel synchros, etc.

I blew my tranny with less dyno torque.

Numbers from the dyno are just numbers tho. I posted a dyno with higher HP. But what will the car run the 60-130 in?

Art, that's good to know. how many miles did you drive with upgraded turbos before engine was opened?...i know you drive your car hard in mexico quite often

I agree that's the best measure of power , as long as one doesnt go with crazy weight reduction mods. Just would like to see apples to apples here..

you have great #'s and they will be tough to beat. Lets see what Vince can run with these gt28's,meth and custom tune.

It is all in tuning my peeps....I bought the car with 45000 miles and have 54000 on the clock....no issues what so ever...cross your fingers. Tranny no problems but everything in the engine is being upgraded to the bone. We are adding the GT3 synchs

Congrats, those are really solid numbers. All of this and it's only the second week you've owned your car? I thought I was bad! At least I made it all of a month before I changed my turbos.
