Oakley in GT900 GT2
#61
Just got back to PHX. We recorded some great in car footage of the 1/4 mile runs which highlights the shifter and John's monster GT2 in action. As soon as we get the video put together, I will post it. Thanks John for allowing me to to drive the beast at the track to get it dialed in. It was a blast.

997RSR 6 speed Sequential specs.
Six-speed gearbox with sequential jaw-type shift; compressed oil lubrication; oil/water heat exchanger; single-mass flywheel; hydraulic disengagement lever; 5.5-inch three-plate carbon-fibre clutch; limited-slip differential 40/60 %; rear-wheel drive.

The RSR is a seq tranny. Much different. The Oakley product is cool, but for $8K? Seems like they should have a paddle shifter option too.

The RSR sequential tranny is almost $40k. I purchased the Oakley used off a board member who was selling his car.

agreed....
Importantly, for a measly $8,000.00 you don't have to miss shifts and kill the box. That will cost a lot more than a shifter that eliminates the missed-shift issue.

That's really why I did it. The 3 -2 shift can be a killer.

I agree with you on that note!!
By the way...how do you like it in normal driving such as mountain roads, traffic, etc.?

update on long term usage? or what? I saw this one in action and it was incredible how fast shifting it was. As for long term usage, I have no clue. The car keeps on getting upgraded to more power. It was at near 1000 last year.
