Thanks Brad, she should have the new lightweight GT3 crank pulley on tomorrow. She will be home in MI this weekend, my kids are pretty damn excited about it too. Once I get it home and some more miles on it I am going to start checking out the local track schedules. You and I have a date a Mid Michigan, loser buys lunch!(most likely me,but I am gracious in defeat as long as I am eating)

Well, that could have been a VERY expensive fix ,but I dodged a bullet. The pully came off and sheared the dowel pin in the process. The problem is that the pin was now stuck in the crank and unless it can be extracted you cannot put on a new pulley! The turbo pulley mucked up the crank end a bit but they worked on it and got it right. Daryl made an extraction tool from scratch just to extract the pin. It was a very slick aluminum tool that went over the end of the pulley and aligned with the pin so it could be drilled perfect and the extracted. The dowel pin was not very wide, less than the circumference of a pencil so precision was very much in demand. I was waiting for this to get fixed and was sweating just a bit to say the least. They got the pin out and installed a new GT3 pulley, which is smaller and about a third of the weight of the turbo pulley. They ran the car without the belt and saw that the pulley was rturning straight and true. The lighter pulley should prevent this issues again, as well as threadlock Red and safety wire..... damn that was close. The thought of taking this crank out makes me sick...

Yes! If you were on this side of the planet there's no telling the stuff that would go on
Really glad it wasn't "too" serious on the crank. We had that happen too once. Sigh!
