Race Results: Tial GT28 Tip vs 6 Speed 18g car

I keep getting so many PM's regarding the race results of the Tial GT28 Tiptronic car vs. my 6 speed car K24/18g with just 5 bar and running 1 bar boost.

Here are the specs and results so that speculations and predictions can end. Hopefully this thread can die for now..
https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...d-k24-18g.html

Tiptronic Car Specs:
GT 28 Alpha Turbos
EPL Custom Dyno Tune
1.3 Bar to 1.4 Bar
100% Meth Injection
60lb Injectors
Mustang Dyno: 535 AWHP , 606 TQ

K24/18g 6 Speed car:
Off the shelf EPL Tune
Solid .9 -1 bar
5 bar FPR
Dynodynamics Dyno: 497 AWHP, 530 TQ
93 octane shell v power

Both cars factory weight and drivers ~190 lbs.

We raced from 45 mph , I started in 2nd gear and Tiptronic car shifted manually. The results ....until shutoff we were dead even , when i shifted to 5th gear i started slowly puling away from the tip car...but stopped the race then.

So the bottomline, to all those who predicted the Alpha car will kill/murder/destroy the k24/18g 6 speed car...you guys were dead wrong

My 6 speed car with 18g if it had injectors and 1.3 bar is what will murder the tip car. So no matter what you do to tiptronic it has its downside and will always produce lower power than a similary equipped 6 speed car...its simple there is more driveline loss. Tiptronic needs a lot more power to hang with the 6 speed cars in a street race situation esp if the 6 speed driver is good!

Tialsport , if you are reading this...do your research before you place bets ....GT28 by default doesnt beat on k24/18g cars. Dont forget that a lot of the current 60-130 record holders have 18g turbos.

Hopefully this will give you Tiptronic guys some perspective on what to expect from you cars with GT setups.

The GT28 tip car is fast and will beat on 600cc bikes, amg cars, tuned GTR etc....but to hang with a equally setup 6 speed car with upgraded turbos...alot more hp is needed. anymore TQ and HP most likely is not safe on stock Tiptronic transmission. The car shifts at 6500 rpms...maybe a TCU remapping will help??

To be fair ..Vince's car has some problem with ECU. Regardless the car was making good boost 1.3 bar and feels strong.. a race is a race. I will be glad to run him again after his ECU and TCU is remapped.

Now i am more confident that a 18g car with injectors at 1.3 bar will destroy a Tial Gt28 Tiptronic with all bells and whistles. Its simple , tiptronic is the handicap here.

I agree, that would be a good race. Looking at the #'s it seems like the Alpha would win with more power under curve when setup the same way.

Even better race would be k24/20g vs Gt28...think they would flow same air so would be a fair comparision.

Yeah I would have to agree based on the dyno sheets I've seen.

Now the 24/20 vs Alpha28 would be very interesting.

I have nicks car with the full 18gs ... but considering the issue with the tip it will not be fair til it gets addressed... watch out for some serious power though... I am putting on some viscious turbos on that yellow banana lol

nice runs especially since you were on 93 and Tial car was on meth. Once you change your injectors and add some race you'll be gone...

Thanks for posting the results. I was interested for sure. I agree that the tip needs more power to make up for the loss thru the tranny. But Im sure you would lose to my car. Have you done a 60-130?

I am sorry, I didn't do or believe it.

Here is a simple result I did from 100-300Km/h in Taiwan. It's a incline high way so it's not official approvied, just for your comparsion.

PS. it's the fast 200-300Km/h record ever made in Taiwan.

Vinod- I don't think you can even begin to compare the 2 turbo's based on 1 race between 2 completely different set up cars...

Keep in mind that I have 6 speed k16/16g's runing 6.9-7.0 60-130 (SealGreay). BlackHorses k24/18g tip cars runs 6.89 60-130 @ 1.3 bar of boost.

Using your method of compare k16/16g = k24/18g...

Im sure Ill get flamed for this one, but lets be relistic for a second....I would love to see a race between Vince and BlackHorse, now that woudl be a REAL compare.
