Suggestions for outdoor car cover?

Can anyone suggest the best outdoor car cover for a 911? I have one car that might have to live under a carport for a bit of time and the cheaper covers I have used are just not up to snuff.

Anyone vendors here sell em?

TIA

CarCraft is at the top of the list...but be warned....even the best outdoor covers let dust, dirt particles etc under the cover....and especially if there's a wind, or even taking the cover on and off of a car can create the spiderweb swirls in the paint. I have indoor covers by CarCraft, and even INDOORS, I periodically get some of those spider web scratches.....outdoors would be much worse, but probably not as bad as leaving it exposed to the elements. I'm not knocking the product, I own several...just the unavioidable results of using one.

I suggest you buy a REALLY good indoor cover and just plan on replacing it earlier than it's normal life would be. All the current outdoor offerings will be more harsh on the paint than almost ANY of the indoor covers available and will blemish your paint in short order.

The classic Grey cotton cover is probably fine as long as you remove it regularly and wipe the dust off the car or wash it. They are really good covers that are under-rated or overlooked because of all the new 'fancy' covers available.

If you want to upgrade to something even better, get a flannel cover. They are heavy cotton on the outside and flannel lined on the inside so they are super plush on your paint. I've had them last outside with daily usage for as long as 3 years before the sun started to get to the cotton and make it tear.

Last thing, the better the cover fits the less debris can get under it while it's on the car. Also, a good fitting cover will be more resilient to effects of wind which can make a loose cover move around and cause blemishes. I've found that the factory Porsche Flannel cover fits very well, so maybe you should consider that one. Also, California Car Cover has a good fitting cover I've used on 3-4 cars (Porsches) that are stored outside everyday (even right now).

Thanks for the posts guys. I just got my 964 back from the shop and it's a cab...I haven't had it here in a long time and am not sure how much or if it leaks and I don't want to find out after leaving the car outside and it happens to rain for extended periods. The car will be kept indoors most of the time but on occassion I don;t have room in the garage.

It's white which shows the least problems.. I am really looking for something as waterproof as possible.

In thar case, get an EVO4 cover (some just call it a 4 layer) or better yet a Tyvek cover if you can find one.

The EVO4 will go 'all weather' on it's own and still offer some plushness for your paint although it is not 100% waterproof.

The Tyvek cover is 100% water proof/ UV proof, but should be placed OVER a standard cotton cover because tyvek would be too harsh on the paint by itself.

I stored my 1966 Chevy II outside for 4 years with a cotton cover with Tyvek over it and it survived flawlessly. Another plus was that the cotton cover didn't age like it normally would outdoors because the Tyvek protected it too. Tyvek is CHEAP too, probably less than $40-$50 for a cover.

I've had a lot of luck with California Car Covers in the past, and used the Superweave twice (black color for black car). However, I definitely agree that no outdoor cover is going to stop all dust from getting under it, no matter how snugly it fits.
