Misfire @ WOT

I've developed a misfire at wide open throttle.
Car runs fine under normal acceleration.
One member suggested changing the plugs.
You can see my mods in my avitar
Any other suggestions on sourcing the issue before i pull the plugs?
Can anyone link me to a good DIY article on plug r&r?

Thanks guys

Haven't got any check engine faults on dash.

Can i have my ECU read to determine if my coil packs are putting out to spec?

Any links to good coil pack threads?

Hey guys, I think I have a similar problem, misfire on cyl 4 at WOT and high boost. Car starts to shutter almost like tire hop.

I just did plugs a few months ago, so probably a coil pack. Two questions:

1. Is it wise to just replace the coil tubes or should I just do the entire coil pack?

2. Since I just did plugs, I am not too interested in getting in there again this soon. It only happens at WOT with high boost going. I can keep my foot out of it for a while. Is a misfire a serious enough problem for me to correct right away, or can it wait and I will keep my foot out of the pedal?

Thanks!

If you are alrready in there you should replace the entire coilpacks and plugs. The coilpacks are about $40 each

are there any threads DIY articles on testing the coilpack and maf either by diagnostic tools or ?

Seems like replacing component after component is not the most effective solution..

Have a happy 4th all...............Geno

andymac is infamous around these parts
Cool

Change the plugs and the coil packs.
I used the Bosch plugs and coil packs and it solved my problems.

My coil packs had been in there for about 8 years but my car has only 40k miles on the clock. Every coil pack had a crack on it. They dont last forever!

So your saying when i'm in there is the best time to do both?

This will be my first time doing plugs on a 996TT

What is the total cost for the coil packs and where to buy?
